GMReviews had a Q&A with one of the leading CCG’s Game Director Matt Siegel.
Matt Siegel is The Game Director Of The successful Game Cards and Castles, which has hit over 100,000 Downloads in the Play Store.
Here’s what he had to say about the questions asked to him. When asked about the game this is what he had to say:-
What makes Your Game better than other CCG’s?
I would have to say that our tactical gameplay element sets us apart and makes us different and unique from other card games.
Who all are involved in the making of the Game?
Myself I’m Game Director, Dylan Marquez is Art Director, and CJ Harrer is the designer.
What inspired you to create this Game? How was the game made?
Well I've always wanted to make a strategy game. When we were early in development we tried this randomization mechanic for player abilities, like spells you could cast, and we figured those were actually cards. So then we made the cards customizable into decks and there you go!
What is the best part of the Game according to you?
Ranked multiplayer really. I feel the game is very fair, fun and competitive.
What's Your Favorite Game apart from Cards and Castles?
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and also Smash Bros Melee.
What are your future Projects? Will it be another CCG?
Maybe. Or maybe a fighting game. We aren't sure yet
What were your previous Projects?
I've worked at various professional studios on mostly unreleased or insignificant titles. Like Facebook games and such.
How did you form your Team?
Well I started on this prototype, and hired people as development went on. Most are friends or colleagues.
Is the response of the Game what you thought it would be?
I'm not really sure what we were expecting but it's going well.
