GMReviews had a Q&A Session with Victor Nikulin head of Rainbow Games studio
Who all are involved in the making of the Game?
The game was created by Rainbow Games studio and our good friend Aleksandr Kuznetsov – who was a “spiritual leader” in creation of the first game in sequel “Garden rescue”.
What inspired you to create this Game?
Previous in Rainbow Games we made games in Match 3, HOPA and solitaire mechanics. By the way our game “The Chronicles of Emerland. Solitaire” achieved a “Card game of the 2013” on the biggest portal of casual games Big Fish Games. So we had a good experience only in making casual games. When our friend Aleksandr shows us cute characters of beetles, that we loved from the first sight, and told his idea to create a tower-defense game, we without a doubt have decided to take a part of it. While creating the first part of the "Garden Rescue", our team got some experience in making this kind of games and we had some unspent potential, which we decided to realize in the sequel. That’s why you can play in "Christmas edition".
What is the best part of the Game according to you?
While production of the game our task was create a solid, completed product with lot of funny characters, animations, some different game mechanics and of course – sound and music. So it's very hard for me to pick out a one best part.
Do you think this is the reason why your game is better than other games of the same Genre?
I think that the union of all completely finished parts of the game in one solid product is the way to create a better game than lot of others.
What's your favorite Game?
For now we have a tons of well created games in lot of genres, for any mood and budget. It's very difficult to distinguish the favorite one.
What are your future Projects?
Now our team working on strategy project in the medieval setting. We try to make a game for mid-core auditory. The game will include a single player with story line and PvP battles.
What were your previous Projects?
Some part of “Rainbow Games” came from another studio where we were engaged in the creation of shooters (FPS). And after creation of “Rainbow games” we published next titles: “Tropical Fish Shop” sequel (Match 3), Odysseus: Long Way Home (a HOPA), Garden Rescue sequel (tower defense), The Chronicles of Emerland. Solitaire (solitaire) and Rush for Gold sequel (resources collector)
How did you Form Your Team?
We are not very big studio, but each of us got a lot of skills in the different directions of the game production. So we can solve various problems arising during the development of various game projects.
Is the response of the Game what you thought it would be?
After publishing of the Game we received a lot of positive messages and reviews from the players. I think this is the best reward for game developer. So the answer is yes!
How would you review Your Game? Why should people download it?
Our game is for whole family, especially in Christmas time. What will be better than rescue Christmas tree from the stealing? The game have three levels of difficulty, so it will be possible for any player to enjoy it.
