Nannaku Prematho: Abhiram (NTR) is a young entrepreneur based in London. One fine day, he comes to know that his father (Rajendra Prasad) is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is in his last stages of life. An upset Abhiram, rushes back home to confront his dad.
During this time, Abhiram’s father reveals that his last wish is to see Krishnamurthy (Jagapathi Babu), the richest Indian in UK gets defeated in life. He further reveals to Abhiram how Krishnamurthy had ripped of his property and happiness by cheating him big time. Rest of the story is as to how Abhiram dethrones Krishnamurthy and fulfils his father’s dying wish.
There were times when Nannaku Prematho does go over the top in terms of its action sequences. YOU CANNOT CALL IT CALCULATED JUDGEMENT IF THERE ARE SEVERAL COINCEDENCES INVOLVED.BUT apart from that Nannaku Prematho is movie worth watching twice.
Devi Sri Prasad has composed Nannaku Prematho’s music and background score. The cinematography is provided by Vijay C Chakravarthy and Navin Nooli edited the film. Principal photography commenced in August 2015. The audio launch of this film was held on 27 December 2015. This film was released worldwide on 13 January 2016. It is planned to be released in Tamil and Malayalam dubbed versions simultaneously with the Telugu version.
On the whole, Nannaku Prematho is a film where all the unnecessary commercial aspects are put aside and the focus is on the content. NTR’s solid performance and emotional content are huge assets. However, the slow pace of the film and lack of certain elements which are expected by NTR fans and mass audience will hamper the collections to an extent. Finally, Nannaku Prematho is a class act which should do well only with the A center audience.
Junior NTR and Rakul Preet Singh starrer witnessed over 50% drop in its collection on Monday and its business continued to drop on Tuesday. On these two days, "Nannaku Prematho" has collected approximately Rs 4 crore gross at the AP/T box office, taking its seven day gross total to Rs 39.10 crore. With two days left for the film to complete its opening week, it is likely to reach Rs 44 crore.
"Nannaku Prematho" is estimated to have earned Rs 27.78 crore for its distributors in the Telugu states. The movie has been made on whopping budget of Rs 50 crore and has fetched Rs 39.80 crore to its producers from the sale of its theatrical rights in Telugu states. The film has recovered 68% of the investment in seven days.
